Disney Dream Docks At Port Canaveral

For those who have been awaiting the arrival of the latest Disney ship to complete
the magical fleet, the time has arrived. Among much fanfare and celebration, the
Disney Dream sailed into Port Canaveral at approximately 7am on Tuesday, January
4th.

The ocean liner sits at an impressive 130,000 tons and can hold about 4,000
passengers, and will work alongside the ships Magic and Wonder in offering cruises
to families and fun lovers worldwide.

The Disney Dream is the first of two new cruise ships that Disney is building – the
combined cost of both ships will reach 1.8 billion dollars when both are finished.
The amenities offered by the ship are impressive – interior cabins feature virtual
portholes looking “out” onto real live footage of the sea, while the “AquaDuck” is the
world’s first water slide on a cruise ship that actually extends over the side of the
craft.

The maiden voyage of the Disney Dream will be on January 26, where it will start
offering alternating 3 and 4-night cruises to the Bahamas as well as Disney’s private
island – Castaway Cay.

When the weather turns warmer during the summer tourist season and interest in
the new ship rises, the Dream will be offering 4 and 5 night itineraries with multiple
stops at Castaway Cay booked.

Disney looks forward to offering its guests the very best with the Dream – and, truly,
if it’s a pirate’s life you want, the Dream offers the very best simulation available!
