Do you love to race? If you also happen to love Walt Disney World enough to hold an annual pass, you’ll get to enjoy the Richard Petty Driving Experience for free.
While most of the rids in Walt Disney World are free upon admission, some of the more technologically-advanced specialty rides and attractions often command a fee on top of the entrance costs. The Richard Petty Driving Experience is one of these rides – generally, it costs fifteen dollars to be able to join in on the tour.
The Richard Petty Driving Experience itself gives racing fans a behind-the-scenes look at the NASCAR driving experience. The tour itself takes thirty minutes to complete, and involves a behind-the-scenes look at a racing track and the maintenance shops that go into making NASCAR what it is, as well as the history of the track itself and a ride in a van around the track. The tour is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
If you’re an annual passholder with friends who would like to join you on the Richard Petty Driving Experience, you’re in luck – Disney will happily allow you to bring four friends along for the fun. Be sure to call and make reservations in advance, however, particularly if you are heading in with a group – the tours are limited to twenty people per tour, and spots do tend to fill up fast.
