Disney Gets Its Soccer On With Kids and Premier Leaguers

Disney Soccer Academy Superstar EditionWhen most people think about Walt Disney World, it’s unlikely that soccer comes to mind. After all, the park is world famous for being a park, and not a soccer pitch. However, for some children this is going to change this summer when they receive soccer tutelage from footballers in the Premier League.

The Disney Soccer Academy Superstar Edition will take place at the world-class HESS Sports Field at the ESPN Wide World Of Sports venue in Walt Disney World. There are actually two sessions that budding soccer stars can choose from, the first being June 20th-23rd, and the second June 27th-30th.

Not only will the children who participate in the Disney Soccer Academy Superstar Edition receive the best soccer training that can be hand on this side of the pond through working with Premier League players (for those keeping track at home, the Premier League is Great Britain’s leading soccer league – such famous names as David Beckham have graced superstar teams like Manchester United, the Liverpool Reds, and Arsenal), they will also get a t-shirt, daily lunch, and a special gift from Premier League athletes. In addition to this, Premier League players who will not be directly involved in the camp will stop by for appearances and Q & A.

There will be five footballers that are manning the camp and teaching the children. These include Craig Bellamy from Cardiff City, Christopher Samba from the Blackburn Rovers, Paul Robinson from Leeds United, Charlie Adam the Blackpool Rovers, and Benni McCarthy from the Blackburn Rovers.
