If you were planning to book a stay at Walt Disney World’s priciest resort, be sure to keep in mind the fact that the spa will be closing for a total of 18 months. The temporary closure is so that the spa can be totally remodeled and expanded – clearly, the demand for the high quality spa treatments that can be had at this and other Disney spas has outgrown the current bounds of the resort.
During this time, Disney has said that the other two full-service spas that are on the property of Walt Disney World will still be open. They have encouraged guests who want spa treatments to go to one of these other spas, which can be found at Saratoga Springs and the Walt Disney World Dolphin. In addition to the full service spas, there are also other hotels that offer spa treatments. These are the Animal Kingdom Lodge, the Boardwalk Inn, the Contemporary, Coronado Springs, Wilderness Lodge and the Yacht Club.
So while the spa closing will no doubt disappoint visitors in the meantime, in 18 months the spa will be up and running again and likely better than ever. Be sure to keep tuned into these most important spa announcements the next time that you want to visit Disney World and look pretty while doing it! In addition to the spa, Disney has also mentioned possibly changing the shoreline of the man-made Seven Seas Lagoon, which is where the Grand Floridian sits. This will allow for more property to have a better view of the shoreline.
