One of the longstanding attractions at the Magic Kingdom has been totally revamped and renamed, and is looking to open its doors this upcoming month to delight and amuse Disney visitors once again. The Enchanted Tiki Room is set to open again on August 15th. The attraction itself has been around since 1971.
The attraction features a flock of animatronic tropical birds and has been a Disney favorite for years, but it fell victim to a fire back in January. The thinkers at Disney took the opportunity to revitalize the aging attraction, and it looks to open with remastered audio, a state of the art show-control system, and a new energy-efficient lighting system.
The show itself is fronted by four parrot hosts, named Jose, Fritz, Michael, and Pierrem. These four birds have been in charge of the display since Disneyland opened its own Enchanted Tiki Room in 1963. In a park where many attractions come and go and with a company that is always looking for the latest and greatest way to entertain its audiences, this is definitely a show worth seeing! In addition to the four main parrot hosts, the animatronic flock contains well over two hundred other birds to support the show. There are also animatronic tikis, flowers, and the show includes plenty of audience participation during the fan favorite song, “Let’s All Sing Like The Birdies.” Be sure to check it out the next time that you are in Disney World! It’s an experience that is not to be missed, particularly now that it’s one of the newest attractions at the park!
