Forty years and multiple expansions that now include four theme parks, two water parks, a sports complex, a downtown area, and twenty resorts including The Art of Animation Resort, the latest addition to the resort family opening this summer, have not altered the Magic Kingdom’s status as Walt Disney World’s most popular attraction. Each year, nearly twenty million guests stroll down Main Street USA toward Cinderella’s Castle before branching off into one the park’s four themed areas.
This year, one of those areas has been given a major facelift, making 2012 the perfect time visit or re-visit the Magic Kingdom. Beginning in the spring, returning guests may get the feeling that Fantasyland is bigger than it used to be. That’s because it is.
Storybook Circus is the first phase of the new Fantasyland to open. It will feature new spins on some of Fantasyland’s favorite old attractions. Later this year, the Magic Kingdom will open Fantasyland forest, an area dedicated almost exclusively to two favorite princesses: Ariel and Belle. New castles and attractions fit for a princess (and those who love) will be the crown jewels of a Fantasyland that’s nearly twice as big as its former self!
For an added dose of Disney princess fun, young ones can have a Disney princess makeover at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Cinderella’s Castle. To make your entire family’s Walt Disney World vacation extra special, reserve a suite in the brand new The Art of Animation Resort to experience the best new attractions-as well as the tried and true—the Walt Disney World Resort has to offer.
