For those who are looking for the quintessential Disney experience, Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom is the heart of what they seek. This is one of the Magic Kingdom’s many “themed lands,” with the ultimate theme of this park being the magical world of Disney. In the words of Walt Disney himself, “Fantasy land is dedicated to the young at heart and to those who believe that when you wish upon a star, your dreams come true.”
The park itself is where the famous Cinderella Castle is located, and is surrounded by a bevy of rides based off of the long line of Disney movies. This is often the first stop for those who have come to Walt Disney World for the first time, and for good reason, as nowhere else captures the magic of Disney as well or as succinctly as Fantasyland does.
For those park visitors who dream of flying on Dumbo’s back or riding in a giant teacup, Fantasyland should be paramount on the wish-to-visit list. Keep in mind that Fantasy land is currently undergoing renovation and expansion, and many rides may be inaccessible during the changes Disney is doing their best to keep the park functioning as usual, but there may be some hindrances as part of the construction process. The construction is slated to be over in 2013, which assures everybody that not only will Fantasyland have a new look, but will be bigger and more magical than ever after its unveiling.
Be sure to stop by Fantasyland on a visit to Walt Disney World – not only for the kids, but also for the kids at heart.
