The Magic of Disney Animation has been one of the most popular attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for a while. Originally it was a simple film narrated by Walter Cronkite and Robin Williams, detailing the processes behind Disney Animated films. While live action shows and stunts get most of the attention these days, many people forget all the work and creativity that goes into the animated features, as well!
Today, the exhibit has gotten a bit of a facelift. A Disney animator is the host of the show, and he does so with the help of Mushu, the dragon voiced by Eddie Murphy in the feature film Mulan.
When the show is over, the guests are lead out into a back room, where they can interact with Disney characters and enjoy some interactive games. There’s even an Animation Academy, where guests can draw their favorite Disney characters with the help of official animators.
Inside the building that houses the Magic of Disney Animation is also a production studio, where many major motion pictures have been released: among these include Lilo & Stitch, Mulan, Brother Bear, and Trail Mix Up.
The Magic of Disney Animation has been so popular over the years due to the fact that it takes a lot of the mystery out of the magic of animation. And just because guests leave knowing more about animation doesn’t mean they’re any less impressed by it – in fact, knowing about all the hard work behind it makes it even more impressive!
