Tomorrowland is another one of Disney’s “themed parks,” or portions of the Magic Kingdom that are designed and decorated in order to evoke a particular theme for its guests. As the name might imply, Tomorrowland is a place where the future is celebrated and guests are invited to enjoy the wonders that tomorrow might bring.
Walt Disney was known for his love of the future and innovation. In his own words, Tomorrowland was specifically designed to encourage visitors to embrace the future and thrill for the discovery on the next horizon: “Tomorrow can be a wonderful age. Our scientists today are opening the doors of the Space Age to achievements that will benefit our children and generations to come. The Tomorrow land attractions have been designed to give you an opportunity to participate in adventures that are a living blueprint of our future.”
While Tomorrowland is definitely one of the most celebrated parks in Walt Disney World – it’s home to Space Mountain, one of the Magic Kingdom’s most iconic rides – it’s also been one of the hardest themed parks for Disney to maintain. After all, tomorrow is a consistently arriving premise, and many Disney executives have joked about the need to ensure that Tomorrowland does not become “Yesterdayland.” As such, Disney puts a lot of effort into that “futuristic” feel that guests get when they visit the park.
Should you find yourself in Tomorrow land while visiting Walt Disney World, be sure to take advantage of all the attractions for you to enjoy. These include the aforementioned Space Mountain, Astro Orbiter, the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, the Tomorrowland Terrance restaurant, and more.
